                Thank you

Three of my friends/coworkers have taken a loss at the same time. When someone loses a house in a fire, reflecting on all the good times, the items you’ve grown attached to, pets or otherwise can be daunting to say the least. It makes reconstructing a new life immediately extremely difficult. And then, someone steps up and decides to do ...

                  Tattooing over scars

Scarring can happen to everyone at some point in our lives. For us boys, it’s just part of growing up. Scraped knees and battle wounds from sports labeled me as 100% boy. On occasion, I am blessed to see people make a choice to heal the past and move forward in their lives or a client will decide that once and ...

What’s so different about our piercing techniques?

Freehand piercing. Isn’t as scary as it may sound. We don’t cover our eyes and throw a needle at you with jewelry attached! Pretending you are a dartboard, is not our goal. Freehand piercing simply means we don’t use tools during our process. We find using our hands verses surgical tools such as clamps and pliers is less invasive. Consider being a ...

                      Merry Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the shop not a creature was stirring, not even a mop. The stockings were hung by the front display with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. The piercers were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of gold jewlery danced in their heads. And Mama with her coffee, and I with ...

                        What Technology?

Tattooing is not something we would generally coincide with technology. I’m here to tell you, as a business owner seeking the latest innovations to keep our studio cutting edge, a lot has changed. As sterilization procedures changed through time, we chose to stay on top of it. From total process sterilization indicators to logging data to entering your jewelry into ...

                          Customer Spotlight

Angie is my kind of customer. She came in looking to just freshen up an older tattoo, and make a few additions. When a customer comes in and tells me they want flowers and says “Do what you think is best.” I get a smile on my face ear to ear. Because, I want to make it look REAL. It’s a ...

                            What is Titanium Anodizing?

Anodizing is the process that changes the way the surface of the metal refracts light, resulting in different colors. An electrical current is applied to the metal and it increases the thickness of the oxide layer on the metal. Titanium body jewelry is anodized to create lots of different, pretty colors. Titanium is a lightweight metal that is ideal for ...

                              Moral Values

There are tattoo parlors that will do anything for (or to) anybody that walks (or stumbles) through the door. You see these joints in movies a lot, because they always make for a hilarious “morning after” scene. Good body artists make morality-driven decisions every day because they understand personal expression has the power to build up or tear down. We ...

                                Ball State is BACK!!

Ball State has been hustling and bustling with foot traffic, McGalliard is busier with runs to Target and local shopping centers and friends are getting a chance to catch up after a rainy summer.  We get our fair share of that traffic as well. The students are back, are getting in the groove, and figuring out where to spend money wisely. ...

Lucky Rabbit’s Lucky 13 Party was a blast! We had a bbq, vegan and non-vegan, and really had a good time celebrating all that we had accomplished in 13 years. It’s been a lot of blood (ha!), sweat, and tears (Mostly the customer’s!!) I can remember when we had our humble start 13 years ago.  We had 1/2 of the ...

This is Haley Smith, our shop manager. When she started at the beginning of May she dove right in, booking appointments, servicing clients,  and basically being the manager we always needed. We thought you should know more about the friendly voice taking your call, answering your emails and greeting you at the front desk. With five years of retail management ...

                                            Nickel Allergies?

Nickel allergy is one of the most common causes of allergic contact dermatitis — an itchy rash that appears when your skin touches a usually harmless substance. Nickel allergy is commonly associated with earrings and other jewelry, particularly jewelry associated with body piercings. The best strategy to prevent developing nickel allergy is to avoid prolonged exposure to items containing nickel, especially ...

Lucky Rabbit + Muncie Mission = Tattoos for Turkeys

For years, I have believed in providing turkeys or tofurky for my employees for Thanksgiving.  I feel each season that it is important to encourage family togetherness. And we are a family here. Well the idea has now been extended into the community. We can reach out and give to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Sometimes we take ...

Trip to see a handful of the world’s best tattoo artists.

Trip to see a handful of the world's best tattoo artists.

I came back from the World WIde Tattoo Conference in Chicago full of inspiration, with a couple new tricks, and an open mind.I took seminars from Guy Aitchison, Hungarian artist Boris, Italian artist Alex De Pase, Bob Tyrell, Nick Baxter, and Jeff Gogue, and got a chance to pick brains in the meanwhile. I'm excited to see my growth over the next 6 months. I'm ready to paint again, and expand my art knowledge evermore. This was a definite "me" trip. I was excited to get home and share my newfound excitement for the art. Excited to just grow and be myself as an artist! And I'm excited for those of you who I hope to benefit from it! I also got to check out a new product, Which will help my clients from getting red during the tattoo. Richie Bulldog's "HUSTLE BUTTER". NO KIDDING, it's awesome. I tried it yesterday on two 1/2 sleeves. We get to see the actual colors I'm laying down, rather than competing with the flesh. I can saturate whites, and light colors more fully with confidence. That means quicker tattooing for me, but more than that it means less damage to the skin. Not too mention sweet photos aftewards. I'm stoked on it! I look forward to posting the results of my latest inspirations! Take Care!
